How do I update my profile information?

Sign into the App:

  • Open the main menu in the top corner of the app
  • Go to Settings
  • Select Edit Profile in the top left hand corner of the pop up box

From here, you can update your name, email address, phone number and profile photo.

How do I verify my mobile number?

If you’re not receiving verification messages, it’s likely that your mobile phone company is blocking the short code SMS.  Give your provider a call to make sure that short code SMS is enabled for your mobile account.

If you still can't verify your mobile number, please submit the correct one to hello@placepropertyapp.com

How do I reset my password?

To reset your password click on the forgot password link on the landing screen of the App

Within a few minutes you will receive an email inviting you to reset your password.

If you don’t receive an email and continue to have trouble accessing your account please email hello@placepropertyapp.com

How do I download the app?

How do I search for a PLACE near my current location?

No problem PLACE can search for you based on your current location.  If you do not enter a postcode PLACE will automatically search based on your current location.  You can check that your current location is correct by reading the address at the top of the page or by pressing the orange figure with a ring around the feet to see your location on the map.

How do I search for a PLACE in a specific postcode?

No problem PLACE can search a postcode for you.  Just enter the postcode you want to search in the top box of the property search page .

How do I find a PLACE that’s available when I need it?

When you search properties using PLACE you can enter the date you want to move in and, if you know it, the date you want to move out.  PLACE will then only show you the properties that are available in that date range.

What do the different categories between Unfurnished to premium furnished? 

In the App next to the categories you can use the information bubble on the right hand side to see what each level of furnishing means and decide which one suits you best.

How do I change the way the search results are displayed?

You can change the display from map view to list or grid view by pressing on the globe in the top right hand corner of the screen.  You can also filter the properties by deposit size, commute time and price.

How do I save a property as a favourite? 

Press the menu button on the top right of the property and then press on the Heart - the property will be saved to your profile as a favourite.  If you don’t want to save it as a favourite you can always find it in your recently searched properties on your profile.

How do I share a property with my wife / husband / girlfriend / boyfriend / partner / flatmate

Easy, press the menu button on the top right of the property and then press on the Share button.  A pop up box will appear with 9 different ways you can share the property with friends, family & Followers:

How do I find an Agent i’ve used before?

Easy, press the search Agents button on the bottom left hand corner of your profile screen and then just type the name of the Agent in the search box and PLACE will automatically show all the possible Agents.

How do I save this Agent as a favourite?

Simply press on the Agent’s profile photo.  On the Agent’s profile page select the menu on the top right hand corner and then press on the Heart symbol – the Agent is now saved as one of your favourites. 

What is the under the bridge: a PLACE for everyone campaign?

PLACE is about finding a PLACE for everyone, even if you don’t have a smartphone.  At PLACE we passionately believe in a ‘Big Society’, even in an urban jungle.  Homelessness is a growing problem in our society and we feel we should play our part to support the good work of homeless charities tackling this issue.  PLACE makes donations on yours and the Agent’s behalf to our two partner charities, The Booth Centre & Emmaus.  Every time someone you have shared PLACE with downloads the App and uses it we donate a meal for a homeless person at the Booth Centre.  Every time an Agent creates a new property on PLACE we donate a bed for a night for a homeless person at Emmaus shelters.

How do I create new properties?

Press on the orange plus button on the Agent profile. 

How do I upload the Floor Plan and EPC?

Yes, you can upload them from your dashboard at your desktop. 

What does ‘0’ mean for number of bedrooms or bathrooms?

If a PLACE has 0 Bedrooms it is a Studio flat or apartment and if it has 0 Bathrooms then it has access to a shared Bathroom.

What does unfurnished, part-furnished, furnished and premium furnished mean? 

You can use the information bubble on the right hand side to see what each level of furnishing means and decide which one suits the PLACE best.

When I create a new property, how does it connect with my existing systems like CFP, Rightmove, Zoopla or Prime Location?

When a new property is created will it create a data file that is emailed to you in the correct formats to be directly imported by you into your existing systems quickly and efficiently at your desktop.

How do I upload my existing property stock on to PLACE? 

Please email us at hello@placepropertyapp.com and we will make arrangements to upload these for you.

How do I ask the last tenant to rate and review a property?

On the property profile page press on the request a review button and simply enter the Tenant's email address.

How do I send details of a property to a tenant? 

In the message conversion window with the Tenant you can press on the House symbol in the bottom left hand corner and then select one of your properties in your portfolio to send across to the Tenant.

How can I tell what properties does a Tenant like? 

There are two ways:

1.  If you press on the Tenants profile photo you will be taken to the Tenant’s profile page where you can see the types of properties the Tenant has recently viewed and which properties they have saved as favourites. 

2.  When you open the profile of one of your properties, you can see at the top of the screen which Tenants have messaged you about the property, which ones have saved it as a favourite, which ones have viewed it and who are looking for similar properties in the postcode.

How do I update my banking info?

Open the main menu and select Settings.  In the Settings pop up press on the Payment Info card symbol and fill in your card details. 

All card details are handled and stored securely by our Payment provider, Stripe.  PLACE does not store any of your banking details on our servers.  

What are the charges? – PLACE is completely free for a limited period 

PLACE is free to download and free to list properties although there are charges for additional services:

  • Creating a new property – £10 donation to charity, which can be used to offset your corporation tax exposure
  • A one-time £20 fee per property listing
  • £1 per Tenant messaged

How are the ratings calculated?

Tenants can rate an you on a scale of one to five stars and comment on you at any time.  Your account's rating is based on the average of all your ratings provided since you created your profile on PLACE.
Providing a high quality of service to Tenants is the best way to maintain your high average rating.
